Nathan is a licensed structural engineer with 25 years of experience. His passion for the safety of dams has spanned over the last 17 years.
Nathan has lived in 3 countries around the world and settled in Sacramento, California in 1984. He graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree with an emphasis on structural engineering.
Nathan enjoyed returning to Sacramento State University to teach engineering classes and enlightening new engineers.
Nathan designed buildings, focusing on seismic design of concrete tilt-up construction, early in his career. He also designed a 26-story office building in downtown Sacramento before transitioning to an engineering consulting firm that focused on water resources, specifically dams and hydro.
Nathan values responsiveness and communication and is a trusted advisor to regulated utilities, public agencies and water and irrigation districts.
Nathan joined KGS Group (an engineering consulting firm which specializes in dams and hydropower) earlier this year where he continues to maintain and build trusted relationships with those in the dams and hydro industry.
Nathan is currently acting as President of the Northwest Hydroelectric Association (NWHA), who is dedicated to promoting waterpower in the Northwest as a clean, efficient energy while protecting fisheries and environmental quality.
Nathan volunteers at STARBASE, a Department of Defense funded program that aims to encourage and inspire 5th grade students in STEM.
Nathan has 3 children and enjoys spending time with them, including kayaking, hiking, painting, traveling, and costuming (specifically Star Wars).
