Waylon Dale Truax
Waylon is passionate and dedicated to his quest for learning and accomplishing professional goals with high standards and results. A firm believer in continuous learning and development, Waylon holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in Thermal Fluid Sciences from Northern Arizona University. His commitment to furthering his education has seen him expand his career in Graphical Informational Systems (GIS) and utilize his problem-solving abilities to adapt, learn, and implement new strategies or ways of thinking in new fields of study.
Currently, Waylon works as the Program Manager for the White Mountain Apache Tribe's Land Operations Department. In his capacity, he has collaborated with the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) on several Public Law 93-638 (638) Contracts including Safety of Dams – Maintenance for fifteen dams on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. Furthermore, he managed a separate 638 contract conducting Hydrologic & Hydraulic Dam Break Studies, and Inundation Mapping for select dams to be included in Emergency Action Plan updates. Currently, he is managing a 638 contract for the Safety of Dams – Design Services for five dams on the reservation. Additionally, he is the Project Manager for USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Operations Program for updates, and modification of the irrigation system in Cibecue, Arizona.
