Ryan Kneifel is a registered professional engineer with Ohio’s Dam Safety Program where he has worked for the past 5 years. He received a bachelor’s degree in Ocean Engineering from Virginia Tech. Currently, he works as a Project Engineer performing inspections, reviewing plans/specifications for construction, and performing/reviewing hydrology and hydraulics analysis of Ohio’s Dams and appurtenance structures. He has worked with colleagues over the past three years to develop basic inundation mapping for Ohio’s high hazard dams with the use of DSS-Wise. Prior to his work in Ohio, Ryan performed life cycle reliability analysis with the United States Navy and spent countless hours viewing levees from the water while working with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service in the Sacramento and San Joaquin Delta.
