Brandon Cruz is a registered Civil Engineer with a master’s degree from California State University, Sacramento in geotechnical engineering and has nearly 15 years of dam safety experience. Mr. Cruz spent 7 years as a design engineer performing independent evaluations for geotechnical slope stability, liquefaction assessment, site and embankment response analyses, and hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for spillways and outlets of dams and appurtenant structures. For the past eight years Mr. Cruz has been working as a field engineer overseeing complex construction work as part of a new dam construction, enlargement, alteration, or repair of existing dam. Mr. Cruz is currently a supervising engineer in the Field Engineering Branch where he manages a team of engineers that inspects existing dams and evaluates their operations to determine their adequacy to perform safely.
