Jacob Smith is a geologist and GIS specialist at the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) under the Land Resources Division. He has 3 years of experience in dam safety and over 5 years’ experience in Environmental Consulting and is passionate about using his skills to protect communities from dam failures. In his role, Jacob is responsible for reviewing applications and recommending hazard classifications to new and existing dams across the state.
